Persona Tiyatrosu; And God Said - Ve Tanrı Dedi Ki adlı oyun ile 28-29-30 Mart'ta Garajistanbul'da
Yunan sanatçı Avra Sidiropoulou’nun yazıp yönettiği, Türk oyuncular Derya Durmaz ve Teoman Kumbaracıbaşı’nın rol aldığı‘And God Said – Ve Tanrı Dedi Ki’ oyununun dünya prömiyeri 28-29-30 Nisan 2009’da yalnızca üç gösteriyle Garajistanbul’da yapılacak. Oyun Persona Tiyatrosu’nun uzun zamandır sürdürdüğü uluslararası işbirliğinin ve özellikle de dil ve kültürün ötesinde bir sanatsal ifade tarzı geliştirme ve kavrayışı yeniden tanımlama arayışı içerisinde Türkiye ve Yunanistan’dan sanatçıları bir araya getirmesinin bir ürünü niteliğinde.
İngilizce ve Türkçe sahnelenecek olan
oyun, kültürün dışavurumu anlamında, Persona Tiyatrosu’nun daha önceki
oyunlarıyla, özellikle de Türk tiyatroseverlerin 2004 yılında
İstanbul’da izledikleri Türkçe, Yunanca ve İngilizce sahnelenen,
Türkiye’den Derya Durmaz, Yunanistan’dan Themis Bazaka ve İngiltere’den
Kristin Linklater’ın rol aldığı Clytemnestra’s Tears (Clytemnestra’nın
Gözyaşları) ile aynı yaklaşımın izlerini taşıyor. İmgesel, şiirsel bir
metni, animasyon ve özgün müzik ile birleştiren Persona’nın bu yeni
projesi, topluluğun tiyatroyu bütüncül bir sanat eseri olarak ele
alışının bir yansıması..

BEYOND LANGUAGE AND CULTURE
Athens-based Persona Theatre Company is presenting the world premiere of And God Said at garajistanbul for three performances only on April 28th, 29th and 30th.
Written and directed by Greek theatre artist Avra Sidiropoulou and featuring two of Turkey's most talented actors, Derya Durmaz and Teoman Kumbaracibasi, this project is a continuation of Persona's long-time involvement with international collaboration and especially with bringing together artists from Greece and Turkey in a pursuit of art forms that speak beyond language and culture and redefine understanding. The play is performed in English and Turkish. The project combines an imagistic, poetic text with animation and an original musical score, thus supporting Persona’s faith in theatre as a total work of art.
And God Said takes place in a time-less, a-local space. It is happening within a post-apocalyptic setting, where the irredeemable catastrophe has swept away all meaning, memory and time as a shared past and imagined future. Stranded in this landscape are a man and a woman with a baby. Unable to communicate, since all the parameters of sense and of personal and interpersonal history are erased, the man and the woman hold fast onto the baby as their ultimate existential reference.
